A couple of months ago, there were rumours of Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif refusing to fly overseas for the shoot of Jagga Jasoos, forcing director Anurag Basu to suspend the Moroccan schedule and create exotically designed sets in the city itself. After apparently much coaxing, the former lovebirds agreed to fly out to the North African country on Sunday night, but boarded separate flights, says a source.

"Since things went wrong between them, the duo has been keeping a distance from each other while maintaining a strictly professional equation. But they surprised everyone by deciding not to travel to Morocco together," says a source.

Katrina is believed to have boarded a late night flight via London while Ranbir took off four hours earlier with a layover in Abu Dhabi. "The crew has already flown in to Morocco. It will be a 10-day schedule and the film's much-delayed shoot will finally be wrapped up," adds the source.

On Friday evening, Ranbir-Katrina had turned up for dance rehearsals for their film at a city studio and left separately too.

Meanwhile...
...Ranbir Kapoor was hanging out with his filmmaker pal Ayan Mukerji in Bandra on Saturday night when the paparazzi tailed him, leaving him furious, suggest reports.
The actor is said to have asked the shutterbugs not to follow him or else he would lodge a complaint with the police. An onlooker claims, "Ranbir stepped out of his car and confiscated a photographer's cell phone. The hapless lensman informed his employer, who kept calling up the phone in Ranbir's possession until it was switched off some time later. Following a text message to the actor's number, Ranbir spoke to the employer at length and agreed to return the phone on the condition that he would not be chased in future."
However, the very next day, Ranbir appeared to be in a much better mood when he was spotted at his customary Sunday football match with some of his buddies. When asked to pose for pictures, he happily obliged.

Salman Khan and Ranveer Singh in Dhoom Reloaded? Is This Happening?
The Dhoom franchise is all set to be rebooted - we know this from Yash Raj Films' blockbuster announcement last December. The latest 'ent-elligence' report names the cast - actors Ranveer Singh and Salman Khan are apparently being considered as the protagonist and antagonist respectively in Dhoom Reloaded.
A report in DNA quotes a source as saying: "Aditya Chopra wants Dhoom Reloaded to be a film for the youth. Who better to play the dashing hero than Ranveer Singh, YRF's current blue-eyed boy? Talks are on for Salman Khan to play the negative role so if both get finalised, it will be Salman and Ranveer for India's most successful franchise."
Salman, 50, recently expressed his desire to work in a film which offers him a full-fledged negative role. He has also reportedly been in talks with YRF to star in the next Dhoom film on the proviso that he gets the same profit sharing ratio which his superstar friend Aamir Khan had received for Dhoom: 3.
Both Salman Khan and Ranveer Singh have been previously associated with Yash Raj Films. Salman's next film Sultan, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, is also backed by YRF and his first film with them was the 2012 blockbuster Ek Tha Tiger. Sultan also stars Anushka Sharma and will hit the screens on Eid.
Ranveer, 30, is a Yash Raj find - he was launched by the banner in 2010 film Band Baaja Baaraat and is currently filming Befikre, which marks YRF boss Aditya Chopra's return as director after nearly eight years - he last directed Shah Rukh Khan in 2008 film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. Ranveer has also appeared in the Yash Raj-made Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl, Gunday and Kill Dil.
The three Dhoom films that have been made so far starred Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra as a crime-fighting team in pursuit of the villains played by, in order of film, John Abraham, Hrithik Roshan and Aamir. Female leads, in reverse order, include Katrina Kaif, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Bipasha Basu, Esha Deol and Rimi Sen.
Back to Dhoom Reloaded - the film will reportedly go on floors next year and will be directed by Dhoom: 3's Vijay Krishna Acharya.
Can't wait to hear more about Dhoom Reloaded? Neither can we.
Till then, keep calm and watch the teaser:

Despite Sushant's Tweet, People Are Still Looking For Reasons For Split
Not everyone is willing to accept actor Sushant Singh Rajput's explanation of why his six-year romance with Ankita Lokhande ended. Despite last week's tweet in which Sushant said the split was not to be blamed on alcohol or infidelity, a webloid report has now done just that. On Twitter, the 30-year-old actor used sarcasm to dismiss the report:
The report published in Spotboye E claimed that Ankita has a drinking problem and that she had 'hit the ceiling' when she noticed Sushant 'getting friendly' with a female colleague at a party.
Last week, Sushant explained that he and Ankita had simply grown apart. Sushant and Ankita, 31, met on the sets of TV show Pavitra Rishta. Sushant played the lead on the show from 2009 to 2011, after which he shifted focus to Bollywood. He made his debut in Abhishek Kapoor's Kai Po Che! in 2013.
The actor was next seen in Yash Raj Film's Shuddh Desi Romance, Aamir Khan's PK and Dibakar Banerjee's Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!.His upcoming films are Neeraj Pandey's MS Dhoni: An Untold Story and Dinesh Vijan and Homi Adajania's Raabta.

Azharuddin Says Biopic Not About Redemption, His Life is 'Shown Fairly'
Former cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin said while promoting a biopic of him on Tuesday that the film is a fair representation of his life and career. "I think this film is not to form an opinion about me, not to redeem myself. It's a narration of my life," said Azhar, who was found guilty of match-fixing at the end of his career.
The film, titled Azhar, has reportedly upset the cricketer's former teammate Manoj Prabhakar and ex-wife Sangeeta Bijlani, both of whom are apparently worried about being portrayed unfairly. There has been talk of legal action in the press but Azhar professed himself clueless. "I have no idea," he said, adding that he wasn't aware if his other former teammates were unhappy about the film.
"It's a story about the events of my life. It's all fairly shown," Azhar said on Tuesday. The former skipper, a life ban against whom was dismissed by the Andhra Pradesh High Court in 2012, qualified his statement with: "I was with the makers through the narration and there were some aspects I didn't want. They were happy to comply."
Asked about his equation with Mr Prabhakar and Navjot Singh Sidhu, Mohd Azharuddin said, "I have no issues with any one and am more than happy to resolve isssues."
Azhar, produced by Ekta Kapoor, is written and directed by Tony D'Souza and releases this Friday. Emraan Hashmi stars as Azharuddin, Nargis Fakhri plays Ms Bijlani and Prachi Desai appears as his first wife Naureen. Additional cast includes Lara Dutta as a lawyer and Gautam Gulati as Ravi Shastri.

En Route Cannes, Mallika Sherawat Tweets Pic of the Eiffel Tower
In what is surely admirable PR, actress Mallika Sherawat has become a fixture at the Cannes Film festival over the last few years. This year, she will be representing a film - Time Raiders, shot in China last year.
Mallika, 39, is traveling to the French Riviera via Paris and posted a photo of the Eiffel Tower on Tuesday:
A tweet from Mallika on May 7 that said "Love is in the air" prompted instant speculation that the actress was in Paris to marry her French boyfriend, Cyrille Auxenfans. "Please don't spread any rumours. I am on my way to Cannes with my film Time Raiders," implored Mallika in a tweet. "The day I get married, you all will be invited," she insisted.
Mallika's Cannes history has included speaking at the India Pavilion, a close encounter with actor Antonio Banderas and a series of red carpet appearances, many of which have been received with disfavour by fashion pundits.

How Azharuddin Helped Emraan Hashmi Prepare For His Role in Biopic
Emraan Hashmi in a still from Azhar.
HIGHLIGHTS
Emraan said that he wouldn't call Azhar a 'faithful biopic'
Azhar was very frank and honest about the incidents in his life: Emraan
Directed by Tony D'Souza, Azhar will release on May 13
Actor Emraan Hashmi, who is gearing up for the release of Azhar, said that he had to play former Indian cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin's role in a more dramatic manner in the film.
Ques: Were you a cricket player before you did Azhar?
Emraan: I wasn't a hard core cricket buff but I believe cricket is a part of every Indian's DNA. We can't escape cricket. I also played cricket. But not the professional cricket that the captain of the Indian cricket team is expected to play after an experience of 20 years. I had to observe Azhar's batting style and tried to play like him without aping him. This is by far the most challenging role I've done so far.
Ques: How faithful have you remained to Azharuddin's character and career?
Emraan: I wouldn't call this a faithful biopic. Azhar is inspired by the events in Azharuddin's life. But we've taken cinematic liberties by making it a full-on masala fare. At the same time, we've remained faithful to basic facts in Azharuddin's life and career. So far we've never seen Indian cricket players up close and personal sharing their jokes and hiccups. At the point when all the controversies were happening, he was very quiet. The film speaks up on his behalf.
Ques: Azharuddin seems very supportive of the film?
Emraan: Yes, he was supportive from the word go. My director Tony D'Souza and I had to do nothing major to win his confidence. He was very frank and honest about the incidents in his life. He was very clear about the way the film would be made and we were also very clear about how we wanted to make the film.
Ques: Was there a lot of brainstorming between Azharuddin and you?
Emraan: We spent about a year and a half trying to understand Azharuddin's life and thoughts. We would chat about his younger days and what happened during the match fixing controversy. He helped us to get a perspective on the way I played the character.
Ques: Azharuddin is not the first real life character that you've played?
Emraan: I played a real life character in Danis Tanovic's Tigers. But I had never met the guy. With Azharuddin, it was different. People know him and his life. I got to know him too. We got a chance to telescope and microscope 20 years of his life, his victories, the humiliation after the scandal, the way he lived, spoke, walked and the way he looked.
Ques: Did you faithfully imbibe all of Azharuddin's traits?
Emraan: I had to play him more dramatically. There were dialogues and heightened emotions that had to be brought in. But at the same time, we haven't dramatized the actual incidents and events to the extent that the original is unrecognisable. We've kept the proceedings real while giving it a Hindi film twist.
Ques: Has the film taken sides on the question of Azhar's guilt/innocence in the match fixing allegations?
Emraan: This is a story that has never really been told. We read about it. But we never knew what Azharuddin actually went through. We had to enhance the dramatic impact by maybe 20 percent to ensure audiences' attention.

Cannes 2016: A Short History of India's French Connection
Of the 19 years that she's been working in the movie business, actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has dedicated part of 14 to her appearances at the Cannes Film Festival. 2016 will be her 15th year on the Croisette. Aishwarya has been representing cosmetics giant L'Oreal on the French Riviera since 2002. Since then, her fashion hits and the Indian presence at Cannes have both increased exponentially.
Aishwarya had some trouble in the initial few years on the Cannes red carpet. A series of garish Neeta Lulla saris in the first few years prompted her to eventually switch designers. She began racking up red carpet wins in couture dresses by Armani and Elie Saab, and changed from Neeta Lulla into Abu-Sandeep and Sabyasachi and finally to Roberto Cavalli. 2015 saw her set the red carpet on fire in a strapless Ralph & Russo couture gown and emerald green number by Elie Saab.
Over the years, actresses Sonam Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and Freida Pinto have joined Aishwarya as faces of L'Oreal. This is Sonam's sixth year at Cannes. Both have made a splash on the red carpet, photocalls and parties like the one hosted by Chopard in impossibly glamorous outfits by Anamika Khanna, Oscar de la Renta, Elie Saab and the like. Katrina, who made her Cannes debut last year, has had to bow out in favour of her work-in-progress film Jagga Jasoos this year. Conversely, Freida, who was absent in 2015, will reportedly attend the festival this year.
Sonam, usually so impressive on the red carpet, had a slight hiccup last year in a yellow feathered Elie Saab dress that was mercilessly mocked on Twitter. Hopefully, it will prove a temporary blip.
Katrina's spot will be filled by Amy Jackson, who will make her debut at Cannes this year and has revealed that she will taking "risks" on the red carpet.
Actress Mallika Sherawat, a non-L'Oreal attendee, manages to make it to Cannes regularly as well - a vaguely astonishing statistic given that nobody can remember the last major film she's been in. Mallika, who was invited at the festival to attend a panel discussion in 2015, pops up on the French Riviera every year now. This time, she's represents her film Time Raiders.
None of these actresses, however, are as beloved in Cannes as Aishwarya who is received every year by crowds of autograph-hunters shrieking her name as she sashays onto the red carpet. They have no trouble pronouncing her name. Aishwarya, who has chaired the amfAR gala with husband Abhishek till last year, will unable to make it to the charity event this year. The actress will return to India for promotions of her new movie Sarbjit, which releases on May 19.
The continued presence of these red carpet regulars has been punctuated by several other Indian actors. In 2013, a landmark year for India at Cannes, actresses Vidya Balan and Nandita Das served on the jury, and Amitabh Bachchan delivered the opening address at the film festival - in Hindi, no less. Deepika Padukone has been at Cannes, so has Kamal Haasan. In 2014, Uday Chopra was in the audience as Grace of Monaco, the Nicole Kidman film he produced, opened the festival. Jackky Bhagnani was an unexpected presence, representing his film Youngistaan. Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap's films Gangs of Wasseypur and Ugly have played to house full audiences; Dibakar Banerjee-produced film Titli, directed by Kanu Behl, was screened in the Un Certain Regard section in 2014. Richa Chadha, Vicky Kaushal, Shweta Tripathi and filmmaker Neeraj Ghaywan represented Masaan at the film festival last year. Apart from a standing ovation, Masaan scored two wins - International Federation of Film Critics and Most Promising Newcomer for the director. Miyan Kal Aana, produced by Nawazuddin Siddiqui and directed by his brother Shamas and Amy, a British docu-film about Amy Winehouse, directed by Asif Kapadia were screened last year.
The Lunchbox, Miss Lovely, Udaan, Vasan Bala's Peddlers and Gurvnder Singh's Chauthi Koot have all made it to the Cannes line-up in recent years. Bollywood made a grand debut in 2002 with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Devdas being screened at the festival. The film's star Aishwarya was a jury member the same year.
Historically, Indian films have been well-received at Cannes although the prizes have dropped off since the Nineties. In 1946, Chetan Anand's acclaimed Neecha Nagar shared the top prize (now known as the Palme d'Or) with David Lean's Brief Encounters. In 1952, V Shantaram's Amar Bhoopali won the award for Best Sound Recording. Bimal Roy's socio-economic tour de force Do Bigha Zameen won the Prix Internationale in 1954. The next year, his Biraj Bahu and the Raj Kapoor-produced Boot Polish were both screened in competition. Baby Naaz won a special award for her performance in Boot Polish. In 1956, Satyajit Ray's Pather Panchali put India on the world cinema map for good with the prize for Best Human Document. In 1957, Rajbans Khanna's documentary on Buddha scored a jury prize. In 1983's Mrinal Sen's Kharij won a jury prize and in 1988, Mira Nair's Salaam Bombay! took home both the Camera d'Or and the Audience Prize. Shaji N Karun's Piravi received a special mention the next year. Murali Nair's Marana Simhasanam's Camera d'Or in 1999 was the last Indian film to bring home an award from Cannes.
This year, Indian films like Anurag Kashyap's Raman Raghav 2.0, starring Nawazuddin and Vicky Kaushal, and the Kabir Bedi-narrated documentary Mount of Excellence will be screened. Six Bengali short films including Anirban Guha's Elixir and Abhiroop Basu's Afternoon with Julia will also be screened at Cannes.

Filmmaker Sabbir Khan says "casual conversations" have started in the Baaghi team to make a sequel, after a good response to the action-drama. The film starring Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead, Baaghi released on April 29.
"A lot of fans have been asking for it. Now it has become a casual conversation in the team that may be we might do a sequel. Like Baaghi happened organically, it (sequel) should happen the same way," Sabbir told PTI in an interview.
The director says he will "definitely" try to come up with something nice for all the love that audience has given to the film.
"We need to get the right story, not do it just because we want to do it as a project, then there's no fun. People have loved it so much, so it is our responsibility to give them a good film. We will definitely try to do something nice," he said.
In Baaghi, Tiger was seen doing Kalaripayattu, a martial art form and indulged in many intense action scenes.
Sabbir said that there are "healthy talks" between him and the 26-year-old actor for a possible sequel.
"Tiger and I don't take each other for granted. We both are very competitive, want to push and raise the bar. There are healthy talks, everybody wants Baaghi 2, that's the word going around now. So, casual conversations have started."
The action-drama has not only netted solid collections but has also been praised for its stylised action sequences.
Sabbir, who made his debut as director with Kambakkht Ishq, feels action films do not get the due respect and says he never makes a movie for "good reviews."
"An action film or a comedy where you are trying to make a mainstream film never gets the sort of respect it needs. But at the end of the day, I am a filmmaker, who will make the film for the audience. I am not making it for somebody to write a good review. That is wrong," he said.
The Heropanti director says today there is an added pressure on a director to keep a tab at the box office even though he or she may not want to.
"I am not a numbers guy but you can't run away from it now. Somebody or the other is always posting on social media, calling you with the numbers. There is box office pressure today, but we went there smiling. We didn't think it will happen but it did. So even in the future, I hope I don't think about numbers and make a film, but make it genuinely," he said.

Cannes 2016: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Describes First Visit to Festival
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's tryst with the Cannes Film Festival began with Devdas and she will be completing 15 years at the prestigious film fest this year.
Aishwarya said that she still cherishes her first outing at the gala, adding that no one "in the world can take that away" from her.
Devdas, inspired by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay's 1901 novel, featured Shah Rukh Khan as Devdas, Aishwarya as Paro and Madhuri Dixit as Chandramukhi.
The Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directed film was a cinematic marvel with revelry of dance, music and a tragic love story splashed with myriad emotions.
When Aishwarya was asked how the perspective has changed about Indian cinema at the foreign film festivals with time, she said: "I don't know how much I can underline that or validate that but I would definitely say that my first experience was truly memorable and exceedingly special."
"It wasn't for an individual but for the entire team of Devdas. It meant a lot to us because it was quite unexpected. We were showcasing our film and getting that kind of reception that we did was truly overwhelming," Aishwarya told IANS.
"The first visit was so memorable. Imagine having a first experience like that. It is something and I don't think anyone in the world can take that away from us and that is something that will always make us feel thankful for having that experience for us to cherish and recount forever," said Aishwarya.
The Cannes Film Festival is scheduled to be held from May 11-21. Aishwarya will walk the red carpet on May 13 and 14.
"It was a night screening. We always heard about how the duration of our cinema can sometimes be a bit overwhelming for the audience beyond the shores and Devdas by that measure is a long film," said Aishwarya.
"They made the reception so wonderful by actually creating this little ride up in a horse carriage. The three (Aishwarya, Shah Rukh and Sanjay Leela Bhansali) of us went up and we truly felt like we were representing us. It just felt glorious from the first step on the red carpet," added Aishwarya.
Aishwarya became a jury member at the film gala in 2003. She then took her talent overseas by working in Hollywood starting with Bride & Prejudice in 2004.
Aishwarya, who will soon be seen in Sarbjit, said that the response was overwhelming.
"If I remember correctly, we got a 10-minute applause continuously after that. It meant the world to us. It was by far the most touching and overwhelming experience for us because like I said, it was quite unexpected and immensely pleasurable," said Aishwarya.

Tamanna’s art of Teaching
Actress Tamanna had a good time while shooting for producer Ramesh Taurani‘s Entertainment, courtesy her fun co-stars Akshay Kumar and Junior, the four-year-old Golden Retriever.
“Although initially it was challenging for me, working with Junior was a pleasure. He was well-trained and extremely co-operative. He was the reason I got myself a puppy called Pebbles,“ explained the actress. During the shoot, she even indulged in a fair amount of daredevilry, thanks to Akki.
“A song sequence required me to fall back from a rock situated at a height and Akshay was to jump and catch hold of me. I couldn’t have trusted anyone else but him. He’s so good with stunts,“ she revealed.
In return, she taught him a few words of Sindhi. “He nailed the accent immediately. He is such a prankster,“ she laughed. Entertainment, produced by Tips Industries Ltd and Jayantilal Gada’s (PEN), releases August 8.

Anushka displays No-Way board
After signing ‘Bahubali‘ and ‘Rundramadevi‘, Anushka has become one of the busiest heroines and she is openly saying there is no way she could allot call sheets to any of the new projects until April 2014.
In the past few months, Anushka was approached by several big production houses with unbelievable remuneration offer for signing her. She, however, softy rejected all of them citing date issues. Even her official spokesperson confirms these reports.
“Currently, Anushka is busy with ‘Bahubali‘ and ‘Rundramadevi‘ which are huge projects and demands more number of call sheets. As the shooting of these flicks will be wrapped up only by April next year, she has decided not to sign any new assignments until then and give it her best to these two biggies,” he told, making it official now that Producers have to wait for at least 7 more months to rope Anushka for their projects.
As of now, SS Rajamouli is films engagement scene between Prabhas and Anushka at a lavish palace set erected in Ramoji Film City.

Anushka has no Time for new movies
Actress Anushka is unlikely to sign any new film in the near future as she is extremely busy shooting for Telugu period-drama “Rudhramadevi” and Tamil-Telugu bilingual “Baahubali“, said a source close to her.
Anushka is shooting for “Rudhramadevi” and “Baahubali” simultaneously. Both films are expected to release next year. “She has been extremely busy with both the projects. Since both are very important projects, she is giving it as much time as possible. I don’t think she will sign any new film at least for the next six months because she really doesn’t have the time for a new project,” the source close to Anushka told.
“Since ‘Baahubali‘ happens to be a bilingual and was started after ‘Rudhramadevi‘ went on floors, much of her time is being invested in the former. She also spent lot of time training in horse riding and sword fighting for these films,” he added.
Anushka is also awaiting the release of Tamil romantic-drama “Irandam Ulagam“, for which she completed shooting earlier this year. In fact, Anushka hasn’t signed any new film since the beginning of 2013 because she has been occupied with the her prior commitments. She has had three releases so far this year – “Alex Pandian“, “Mirchi” and “Singam 2“.
